New 'Science Zone' Center Opens in Homs

A special Study Zone center, named "Science Zone," was inaugurated in the city of Homs on October 28, 2023. Distinguished by its specialized sections, Science Zone aims to meet the unique educational requirements of students in the region.Besides the regular three zones - the social, the quiet, and the silent zone - this center also has specialized areas, most notably, an architectural section equipped with modern drawing tables and specialized lighting. Another remarkable feature is the section dedicated to dentistry students, which is equipped with essential micromotors, a crucial tool for their studies and a rare resource for them to find in typical educational environments.The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence and blessings of Abp. Mar Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, the Archbishop of Homs, Hama, Tartus, and the surrounding areas for the Syriac Orthodox Church. Additionally, Abp. Hanna Jallouf, the Apostolic Vicar of the Latin Church in Syria, and Sr. Anne Demerjian, Mother Superior of the Jesus and Mary Congregation, which provides guidance and supervision for our work in Syria and Homs. The fathers and sisters, along with the management and team of the Christian Hope Center, also joined the event.The Science Zone was consecrated and blessed through the heartfelt prayers of the archbishops and fathers. Following the ceremonies, an informative tour of the place was conducted, showcasing its various sections. Guests had the opportunity to meet with some of the students and talk to the staff, discussing their vital role in fostering hope among the youth.
