A trip to Aleppo Citadel

The citadel of Aleppo is one of the oldest and largest castles in the world. Its history is rich of all the successive civilizations that trace back to the 3rd millennium BC.

Through this field trip, the homework room team was hoping that all the 76 children get to learn about their ancient history, and explore the old city of Aleppo with the ancient Souq of Khan Al-shouneh, Al-Sabaa Bahrat famous neighborhood, and the most important the citadel itself.

After 8 years of conflict and siege over the old city, the kids had the chance to tour around this historic castle from the outside and visit the mosque, baths, the throne hall and the iconic entrance hall.
