Bassel, a floor tiler from Homs, has made Fairouza village his family's home since the war started. There, he lives with his wife Joumana, and their only daughter, Mira, who is 19 years old. He has been working in this field between Syria and Lebanon since 1990, which has allowed him to accumulate a lot of experience.
However, amid the chaos of the war, most of Bassel's equipment was stolen, which obviously made his work more difficult and reduced his income.
He applied to the Micro Projects Program because he was in need of some crucial tools, including the ceramic cutter, electric generator, and angle grinders, which would enhance the quality of his work and save him time and effort.
