George was visited at his sister's house, where he lives with his family of four. They have been living with his sister's family for three years, sharing living expenses and rent.
George is married with two sons. He is originally from the Al-Jadida area in Idlib countryside, where he was settled with his family and owned a blacksmith shop equipped with full tools. However, the war forced them to leave their town in 2013 due to the unstable conditions and lack of security.
During his time in the Al-Jadida village at the beginning of the war, George had helped a soldier to the hospital, which made him a target for the militants. This forced him to leave the village, and he is currently barred from returning. His father was kidnapped by the militants, who later informed them of his father's death without providing the body. His mother currently lives alone in the village.
They left their homes, lands, and properties, moving to Hama where George worked various jobs and eventually bought some basic tools and rented a shop in the village of Ayo. Unfortunately, in 2018, his shop was robbed, and he started working between Aleppo and Latakia, where his family had settled.
George decided to head to Aleppo, starting from scratch. He worked for friends and acquaintances with the few tools he owned, but the rising costs of living hindered him from opening his own shop.
After enduring much instability and hardship, George came to the hope center seeking assistance in starting anew by opening a blacksmith workshop. Today, George has launched his own project after being equipped with the necessary tools, hoping it will be the start of a better future and stable income, ensuring a decent life for him and his family.
