Micro-Projects is a livelihood-support program which helps family providers who had either lost their livelihood during the war,
or aspire to be a productive and financially independent part of the community by starting their own income generating business.
By financing their micro-projects, Christian Hope Center is helping Christian families to have a sustainable source of income,
through the provision of equipment, machinery and tools.
This will eventually mitigate the economic harm caused by increasing poverty and insecurity, preserve their dignity,
and alleviate the calamities of war and the economic crisis, which will ultimately preserve the existence of an active Christian community in Syria.
In addition to the Micro-Projects supported in Cities of Aleppo, Homs and Damascus,
the program also supports families who rely on agriculture as their principal source of income in rural Homs.

The family owns a tractor in addition to a tanker that they fill with the required agricultural materials like pesticides and medications for their plants; Duaa and Rami used to borrow a pump from their relatives to spray their land, but unfortunately, the pump broke down and the spraying costs have become more than they could afford, while buying this important equipment was impossible due to its expensive price.
Grapevines need special care and continuous spraying with medications and pesticides to guarantee good production, the pump will help in decreasing the high costs thus, this lovely family will have better crops and increase the profits of their life project.

In 2019, the hardworking man had no other choice but to return and start over; he tried to find a suitable work opportunity in his profession but being out of the country all these years made him lack the required relations with engineers and other craftsmen who could provide work opportunities.
Fadi is the sole breadwinner for his family of four, so he couldn't stay long without ensuring them a source of income, which would be sufficient to cover their growing needs. However, since he had the time, he decided to work with his brothers in farming and the land became his resort after losing everything.
Fadi is giving all of his heart to guarantee the best crops in the family's land of grapevines. He applied for a mini-cultivator to cut down on the high plowing costs while on the other hand, he can secure an additional income by helping other farmers with this important equipment.

The only choice left for him in order to ensure a dignified life for his family was to go back to his original work in farming, which he had depended on for more than 20 years.
Mohsen's land is planted with olive trees, different kinds of fruit, and wheat, but lately his crops deteriorated as a result of the tractor he had, which is essential for plowing and other agricultural activities because it needed maintenance and the repairs would cost a big amount of money that he can not afford.
Now thanks to the micro project program, Mohsen can drive his tractor again and save the high costs of rent that he used to pay whenever he plowed his land, and most importantly, he can revive his land and improve its agricultural condition.

Talkalakh village witnessed the terrors of war and Ayman was one of the craftsmen who lost their work because it was very dangerous to even reach his workshop, which was later destroyed and robbed. Losing all of his equipment was not a reason to give up, and Ayman did his best to provide for his children.
The land became the main source of livelihood for the family after this great loss but lately, doing most of the agricultural activities has become a real challenge for Ayman and his children, since they were no longer able to use their tractor after its tires were completely worn out, on the other hand, the tractor is essential for plowing and pesticide spraying in order to ensure good crops thus, they were forced to rent someone else's vehicle with high cost.
Giving Ayman the chance to change the old tires will save him time and money, and also improve the conditions of his land.

When the situation stabilized in the area, he got back to his work in farming, but unfortunately, the production of the land deteriorated due to the lack of irrigation water and Nabil couldn't compensate for his great loss, especially since covering the family's essential needs has always been his main concern and took the largest part of his income.
The hardworking man gave all of his time and effort to his land; the family's only source of livelihood, he managed to buy a part of the irrigation requirements and needed support with a water pump and an electric generator. Throughout the war period, Ghassan was unable to reach the land, which was in a dangerous location; unfortunately, the land had become abandoned and the negligence caused a deterioration in the crops.
A few years later, his long service as an employee came to an end, and the couple decided to settle down in their village, they prepared a house which cost them a big amount of their savings and they had to find an additional source of income to live on as Ghassan's pension was barely enough to cover some daily needs and the land was their last resort. Their financial resources were only enough to plant half of the land, they planted the land without being able to provide a suitable irrigation method; while the land had a well, it lacked the needed equipment to draw the water, so they had to rent a tractor for watering.
Ghassan's brother, Marwan, encouraged him to apply for a water pump in order to make use of the well and save the high rent costs, as this well is located between Ghassan and his two brothers' lands, making it an important watering source for three farmlands.
Although Ghassan and Joyce couldn't plant their whole land, having a sustainable source of water will help them to continue and improve their life project.

While the financial burdens were growing, Mowafaq's income became no longer sufficient to meet the family's needs. Marah decided to make use of the land they own by starting an agricultural project.
The couple started preparing their land to plant it with grapes; Marah sold all of her gold jewelry and her husband decided to sell his car to buy the grape seedlings and install the iron stands, which are necessary to plant the vines, but their newly initiated project still lacked an irrigation system. Marah and Mowafaq couldn't afford its high costs, especially since they've spent all the money they saved on establishing this land.
Marah applied to the Micro-Agricultural Project, to complete what they started; planting the family's land will ensure them a decent living and also help them settle down in their home village Maskaneh.
